Cr Ruth McRae re-elected as Mayor of Murrumbidgee Council

Cr Ruth McRae has been re-elected unopposed as Mayor of Murrumbidgee Council for a period of 12 months.

Cr Robert Black has also been re-elected as Deputy Mayor, unopposed.

Cr McRae said it had been a great honour to serve the Council and community in its inaugural term as the newly formed Murrumbidgee Council.

“I look forward to continuing to serve all of the Murrumbidgee Council communities for another 12 months,” Cr McRae said.

“It’s a privilege to be able to watch the roll-out of an extensive range of community building initiatives, made possible with Government funding.

“We are at an exciting stage of our area’s development and it’s excellent that we have been able to drive our future growth through opportunistic funding,” Cr McRae said.

Cr Black has also been Deputy Mayor during Murrumbidgee Council’s first term.

He commented, “I am looking forward to working with the Mayor and our fellow councillors to achieve community goals and expectations over the coming 12 months”.
