Media release - Are you an SBS listener?
Murrumbidgee Council is seeking feedback from Jerilderie residents who listen to SBS radio on 2SBS FM 91.7
The Council office at Jerilderie has been a base for SBS radio since 2006 when the former Jerilderie Shire Council received a grant to install the equipment.
Murrumbidgee Mayor Ruth McRae said the aging equipment now requires an upgrade and Council would like to assess if the service is actually required before outlaying the money to replace it.
The matter was discussed at the June Council meeting with Council deciding to go to the community to see if the service is desired and utilised.
Cr McRae said we would like to ascertain if locals are listening to the service on the 91.7 FM band or if they are happy and able to listen to transmission through the internet.
“If the community still wants the service, then Council will proceed with the upgrade,” Cr McRae said.
“I encourage anyone who listens to the service on FM 91.7 to contact Council’s Jerilderie office.
